click to read about Dr. Amit Kamath our pediatrician
Today Rowan is 12 weeks old. Dr. Kamath came in asking how our "champion" was doing. He measured in at 25", up 3 from last appointment and bumping him from the 75th to 85th percentile in height. He's up 3 pounds to 16 now and at the 97th percentile! At 7-8 months it will slow down. The doctor says he's just fine and has good muscle tone and reflexes. He said moving into the 4th month he should start holding his head up and begin some rolling over (both he is doing already). He got a polio vaccine today, and we gave him tylenol right away this time hoping to avoid the nightmare of last time. (Garfield bandaid today)
The doctor also said he is likely beginning to teeth a bit, with the drooling and hand in mouth action, so we'll be keeping an eye on that. It's also accounts for the random fussy days.
He suggested that he's solid enough to start a bit of sleep training if we want to. He doesn't require the night calories (obviously) and should be sleeping longer stretches than he does right now. Our record is 5 hours. To help him along he suggested expressing milk for the bottle and watering it down a tad for night feeding...looks like Daddy finally gets back in night game and is about to lose some beauty rest, while Mama catches a couple more Zs.
