Trying to stay entertained

Multi-tasking! We must have every book out and open, and then tromp all over them to ruin the binding.

The last hour before Doug left for a 4 day trip. If we'd taken a photo when Doug got up, you'd see a head sized sweat circle left from Rowan's head.

Yanked down the kleenex box and went to town.

One of several excursions while Daddy was away. The Vancouver, WA library children's section is amazing!!!

So many hands on mechanisms to play with, very engaging!

Odds and Ends

Guess who stood up by accident today!! Nope didn't get a picture but we are one step closer to walking!

Scaling anything and everything!

Pre-camping rest.

Ginger mustache, what a look. He looks like a tiny brother from "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."

Playground at the campground.

Evil squirrel got into our rubbermaid of dry goods. Ate all of Rowan's goldfish, tested a few things, reduced the number of smores, hovered around testing our guard.

Resting the Rowan bedtime back, our upward view.

Camping Part 2- the good sleeper!!

Step 1, story time.

Step 2, the bottle zone out. Looking promising.

Step 3,  wandering lullabys

Step 4, extra long holding for good measure.

Junior camper's 6am wake-up after a hard long sleep!

30 second's later, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in a 50 degree tent!

Camping part 1

Fueling by the river with t-shirt for the occassion.

Happy hiker and happy camper.

Campsite prep holding pen.

4-o-clock tea time......

Dinner cooked over the fire.

Lunch melt down; happy dinner

Foods Rowan has no reaction to eating: pickled herring, picked peppers, pickles, olives, eggplant, saurkraut even goes down with no expression. Today he had a tiny sample of sardine and these pictures are from 5 minutes after he recovered from the trauma. He turned red, gagged from displeasure and had a complete crying meltdown, tears streaming.

"Dear God, please never let this happen again!"

A wet-faced mess.
However, at dinner we were practicing our spoon skills with a dip that he really likes: blended cottage cheese, lima bean, and fresh watercress, rosemary, chive and cilantro. Yes, that combo he likes?!

1st Behind the wheel lesson

Showing him the tractor is more than just wheels to spin..

We were flying around the patio

Dressed for a cool morning walk.

Loving the sand box.

Hmmm, considering a carpet cleaning  thanks to our little "Mudpie's" daily soiling.
