1983 arrived in a box!

Grandma Lynne sent a box yesterday with Doug's Cabbage Patch doll, "Drew- Robert." Doug doesn't remember that they were hard to come by for a while back then, I even had a homemade one (you could buy the heads alone). He says he doesn't remember playing with it, but it looks to me like he was dragged around plenty by grubby toddler boy hands. He got a little freshening up today. The one boxed mystery we decided was Doug's baby shoes. They seem so tiny, not much bigger than the doll's but they seem broken in with some baby miles on them. We're wondering if Doug was an over achiever with his first steps?

We're also ready to tote the little guy around Brooklyn or Portland in his vintage 1980s garb. Though Doug and I are not cool enough to pull off the hipster look, our baby is all set to go retro, especially with the gingham sleeved button up. The yellow sweater was knit by Doug's Grandma Detrick, the cable detail at the top are twisted into owls with button eyes, very cute.
